Selected chapters from the theory of conducting and leaderschip of choir
chapter: Basic principles of beating techniques     section:  Basic position

The basic position is indicating differently. Most often it is a gentle stride, one foot slightly forward. Position is calm, but not stiff. The focus of conducting is concentrated mainly in the two arms. Moving of arms could be supplemented by head movements and facial mimicry (special meaning – the great articulation).
